Family Empowerment

A program designed to help juvenile first time offenders 12- 18 years old. We teach families, in a psycho-educational group setting, how to enhance their communication skills, positively resolve conflicts, learn anger management skills, and develop self-esteem enhancement skills, among others. We serve families in the Miami Beach, Hialeah and North Miami Beach areas. Referrals from this program are only accepted from the Juvenile Services Department.

Program overview:

  • 13 week intervention program for teens and parents
  • Family Intake & Assessment
  • Weekly 2 hour individual & interactive group counseling- psycho educational sessions
  • Individual & family therapy (when needed)
  • Overview of academic performance & school attendance
  • Contact with school counselor and other personnel
  • Drug Testing (upon request of referral agency or parents)
  • Weekly & monthly case manager reports
  • Weekly follow ups with youth & parent
  • Family and youth referrals as needed
  • Drop-out prevention and pre-employment training
  • Post-arrest counseling
