Family Empowerment
A program designed to help juvenile first time offenders 12- 18 years old. We teach families, in a psycho-educational group setting, how to enhance their communication skills, positively resolve conflicts, learn anger management skills, and develop self-esteem enhancement skills, among others. We serve families in the Miami Beach, Hialeah, and North Miami Beach areas.
Program over view:
- 13 week intervention program for teens and parents
- Family Intake & Assessment
- Weekly 2 hour individual & interactive group counseling- psycho educational sessions
- Individual & family therapy (when needed)
- Overview of academic performance & school attendance
- Contact with school counselor and other personnel
- Drug Testing (upon request of referral agency or parents)
- Weekly & monthly case manager reports
- Weekly follow ups with youth & parent
- Family and youth referrals as needed
- Drop-out prevention and pre-employment training
- Post-arrest counseling

Can you continue to provide assistance once the program has been completed?
Yes, you can always return for consultations.
What happens with my record if I am rearrested?
Your record will not be cleaned and you will have the offense on your permanent record.
If I am rearrested, what happens?
You will have to go to court and the judge will decide if you must serve a 21 day jail sentence at the Juvenile Center.
How does attending the program benefit me?
First time offenders who complete the program - complete the community hours, show improvement at school - will not have a police record.
What happens if I don't attend this program?
You will have a police record.
